- I have a mac model (Quadra 630) with an infra-red sensor that supports
- a TV-like remote control. The following information may be of interest.
-
- 1. The remote control uses the same signals as a Sony TV.
-
- 2. If the remote control is operated while an application is actively using a
- modem connected to the "modem" serial port, the application will crash.
-
- 3. The crashes do not occur if the modem is connected to the "printer" serial
- port instead.
-
- 4. The crashes do not occur if an externally-clocked device (such as the
- Connectix QuichCam) is using the "modem" serial port.
-
-
- I would be interested in hearing whether other users have had
- similar experiences, or know of an explanation for this.
